Finally they’re addressing the Iron Horse Death Trap

Just read over on ‘light and wheels‘ that the Iron Horse death trap will be fixed by the end of the year.

Here’s what it’ll look like.

I hope they don’t screw it up. Or else we’ll have to go fix it ourselves. I’d love to know what the person was thinking who came up with this:

  1. Great to hear that the dangerous crossing will be realigned. Hopefully they will install crossing lights, rather than those absurd bicycle barriers.

  2. Thanks for the reblog:)

I think I can tell you what they were thinking when it was set up the first time so poorly. Two rail lines crossed. One was defunct, was wasn’t. The defunct one was being made into a rail trail so they basically followed the trail blindly. Since then, a few bits have been rerouted a bit – for example, the bit at Victoria Street to remove a not so nice crossing (even though most people still cut through) and the bit of a jog at Mill St, but by and large, the trail follows its original pathway.

I for one am very happy that this is being fixed at last.
